The first shot has been fired - the Fic Battle will now begin! Full rules and guidelines here (please note the sign-up addition and the last prompt deadline edit), but the quick version is here:

1) Author A replies to this entry with their writing preferences (from here) to start their thread. Minor changes are allowed to preferences, if needed.
2) Prompter 1 replies to Author A's thread with a prompt
3) Author A fills said prompt with at least 300 words of fic and posts it in a reply to Prompter 1's comment.
4) Author A moves on to Prompter 2.
5) Prompter 1 may now give Author A another prompt if they so choose, continuing on until prompts close on Thursday, June 21st at 10am EST (7am PST).
6) Authors have until Thursday, June 21st at 12pm EST (9am PST) to post their fills.

The author with the MOST fills will be the Winner! Any author who fills EVERY prompt they receive will be a Survivor!

A few additional notes:
** The length of the battle is for two reasons: A) varying free time for writing (a work-a-day writer or a weekender), and B) varying writing speeds (a tortoise or a hare).
** As the battle goes on, try to spread your prompts among the authors. If you see an author who has completed all their prompts and there's plenty of time to the end of the battle, help them out!
** No ideas for prompts? Use resources like unfilled prompts at various comment fic memes and fests (even other fandoms which could be adapted), or random story idea generators.
** Anonymous comments are screened for the duration of the battle. Please prompt logged in.

Questions? See the first comment thread below.

GOOD LUCK, ALL!

CEASE FIRE! The battle is now over! No fills posted past 12:00pm EST will count toward the final totals. Masterpost with winners, survivors and breakdown will go up by tomorrow at noon.

Authors may continue to fill their prompts, just for fun, if they wish! And prompters, please continue to feedback. :)

Re: ayadec
(Part 2)

When Jeff looked at the same assignment three weeks later, as he didn’t start it until the night before it was due, he had a quick initial answer as well. To never have been found out by the Bar. He watched Suits; he had a pretty good idea that some of the “necessary education” wasn’t all that necessary. If Alan had never turned him in, he probably would have been partner by now.

At first, it sounded wonderful. A seven figure salary. The newest cars. A statement house and three summer property. He’d be the person everyone wanted at the party. He’d be next in line after Ted.

Oddly enough, in his mind’s eye, as he envisioned this dream, he had a certain brunette on his arm at the party…and a text of support from a certain black woman on his iPhone4. He quickly realized that, if that wish had been filled, he would never had met either woman. He would have probably picked up some nameless woman the party, had some “fun” and sent her home. Another night alone.

Four years ago, that might have seemed like the life. Now, it seemed a little like a punishment. He actually miss the rest of Greendale 7. And he would be a terrible asshole without Annie. She was the reason he sincerely tried to be a better person. Oh, he tried to fake it in the beginning, for Britta, but that was never going to be permanent. Annie’s Disney eyes had a way of making Jeff make permanent decisions. And, although he though the group was a little crazy, he also wouldn’t be surprised if Shirley’s prayers, Britta’s harping, Abed’s knowledge of popular culture, Pierce’s tendency to stick his foot in his mouth, or watching Troy grow into his own made him a permanently better person.

He’d thanked Alan for turning in when Alan shared he had. He’d meant the thank you at the time, but he had no idea how grateful he really was to have to get a real bachelors degree from America.

Annie and Jeff never talked about why they both sought each other out after turning in their Philosophy assignments. Both would only agree that wishes were tricky and some set-backs just might be worth it.

Re: ayadec
This was really lovely, thank you. I liked all the other inclusions you made with the group (and with Annie walking by the "lucky" version of herself, and Jeff listing the aspects of the group that had helped him grow). The last part was cool too with Jeff & Annie seeking one another out after handing in the assignment.
